Katherine A. Snyder, R.N., B.S.N., Aircraft Accident Injury Attorney
Katherine was born in Philadelphia and raised in Annapolis, Maryland.
She graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland School of
Nursing where she was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, the International
Honor Society of Nursing. She spent most of her nursing career at
Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, Maryland, where she specialized
in critical care nursing, working in the intensive care, cardiac care
and emergency departments. Her nursing experience also included care
of infants, children, adults, and the elderly.
Katherine subsequently broadened her nursing role in the area of
hospital administration by working as an emergency department nurse
manager, and she recently served as Risk Manager for a medical center
in Pennsylvania. As an administrator, Katherine’s work focused
on patient safety. She reviewed and revised hospital policies and
procedures, investigated incidents, performed risk assessments of
individual hospital departments, educated physicians and staff regarding
patient safety, and worked closely with hospital physicians and
staff to reduce errors by using system analysis to identify areas
of risk.
While still employed as a registered nurse, Katherine pursued her
law degree and graduated from the University of Baltimore School
of Law in 1992. As additional legal training, Katherine participated
in the American Association for Justice Trial Advocacy
College in 1996.
Katherine specializes in medical malpractice, products liability,
motor vehicle accidents, and other areas of personal injury. She
has been involved in litigating complex medical malpractice and
product liability cases in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Particular
areas of expertise include catastrophic birth injury; surgical and
post-operative care; care of the critically ill; cardiac and emergency
patients; anesthesia management; failure to timely diagnose and
treat cancer; failure to prevent stroke; and plastic surgery malpractice.
Katherine is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and Maryland,
and is a member of the bar of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern
District of Maryland. She is a member of the American Association for Justice, The American Association of Nurse Attorneys, Pennsylvania
Bar Association, Philadelphia Trial Lawyer’s Association,
and the Women in the Profession Committee.
